Every California employer has been faced with incredible challenges, tremendous uncertainty, and an unbelievable amount of frustration in recent years. We are still seeing new laws being enacted in response to the Me Too Movement, as well as multiple new laws seeking to provide additional protection to employees in the workplace. New standards require employers to modify their policies and procedures both in writing and in practice. Those who fail to comply with the letter of the law face significant legal exposure.
Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Assistant Kern County Administrative Officer, Teresa Hitchcock, who manages America’s Job Center and Employer’s Training Resource for the county as part its Workforce and Economic Division. Hitchcock will provide key details on Kern County’s new $1.2 million micro grant program. She will also discuss local issues businesses are experiencing in hiring employees, and available resources to help employers.
