(August 2020) Katerina Axelsson CEO and Founder of Tastry, will share her entrepreneurial experiences and journey to creating a company in San Luis Obispo. Katerina, is a graduate of Cal Poly with a B.S. in Chemistry. While in school, she worked at a custom-crush facility and noticed that one of their batches imprinted with two different labels received drastically different industry scores: it was then that she knew there had to be a more science-based way to score wine. Thus, Tastry was born.

Coffee and Conversation w/ Angel Investors

(July 2020) At this month’s Coffee and Conversation, you will hear from three Angel Investors as they share their experience being part of AngelCon 2020. An angel investor (also known as a private investor, seed investor or angel funder) is a high-net- worth individual who provides financial backing for small startups or entrepreneurs, typically in exchange for ownership equity in the company. While most people know AngelCon as a pitch competition that happens once a year; becoming an investor is a year-long training process that leads up to the main event.

(June 2020) Sandra will share her experience as the CEO of a professional services firm over the past 30+ years. Owning, managing, and serving as HR Director for an HR services firm, Sandra has a unique perspective which includes the challenges and opportunities of both growing the company, as well as managing a geographically diverse team which functions as the HR department for over 100 clients.

Donica Forensich and Rolando Locci will join us this month to share their collective experience as legal and finance professionals. They will discuss stories of client success and failure, best practices and “do’s & don’ts” to help you make smart decisions early in the process and avoid common mistakes. This session is perfect for those starting their fundraising journey, either with investors or banks. Both new and existing businesses will benefit.
