Two of the federal government’s largest research and development grant programs available for small business technological innovation and transfer opportunities are among topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.

Host and SBDC director Kelly Bearden will be joined by Charles Eason, Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) advisor with the SBDC. Eason will provide details on the SBIR and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) programs, qualifications and eligibility requirements for funding, and insights on how to prepare and submit a proposal for the competitive process.

An entrepreneur, Eason has direct experience with the SBIR/STTR programs through his company, OPTEMA Development Corporation, a past National Science Foundation Phase I, Phase II, and Phase IICC STTR awardee. He has provided counseling and training to SBIR/STTR clients for 29 years.

Bearden will begin the webinar with a look at current trends facing small businesses, available capital resources programs, and more.
