Navigating Resources for Black Business Owners

Thursday, August 27, 2020 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Presented by the Small Business Majority

August is National Black Business Month - a time to celebrate and honor the contributions of Black-owned small businesses - but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many Black-owned small businesses and self-employed people are struggling to access critical resources and facts about funding to keep their businesses afloat. These issues can be particularly challenging for businesses with slim profit margins and systemic barriers to success.

Please join Small Business Majority, The Central Valley Urban Institute, Bakersfield Black Dollar Initiative, and the Fresno Chapter of the NAACP for a free interactive webinar for small business owners and entrepreneurship service organizations on financial resiliency tactics and resources available to address the needs of Black-owned small businesses.

Topics include:

  • Policy updates impacting Black-owned businesses during COVID-19
  • Overview of federal aid for small business owners
  • Funding options and how to avoid predatory lending
  • Negotiation with creditors for financial resilience
  • Helpful tools and resources by Venturize, NAACP and more
